BJ Penn is the former UFC Lightweight Champion and UFC Welterweight Champion. He became only the second fighter to win UFC titles in two different weight classes. He recently lost his UFC Lightweight belt against Frankie Edgar in UFC 112 and could not regain it in a rematch in UFC 118. As a comeback fight, he knocked out UFC Hall-of-Famer Matt Hughes in round 1 of their match in UFC 123 which won Knockout of the Night. A win over Jon Fitch will put him back into title contention again.
Jon Fitch is a former title contender but lost to Georges St-Pierre via Unanimous Decision in UFC 87. Fitch is currently ranked as the #2 welterweight and #5 pound-for-pound fighter in Sherdog.com. Fitch has reeled off 5 successive wins after the loss to Georges St-Pierre and he looks to make another run to contend for the championship.
