UFC 118: Edgar vs Penn II; Toney vs Couture

UFC 118: Edgar vs. Penn 2 is an upcoming mixed martial arts event to be held by the Ultimate Fighting Championship on August 28, 2010 at the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts, United States. This is the first time that a UFC event will be held in Boston.

UFC 118 will feature a rematch between UFC Lightweight Champion Frankie Edgar and Former UFC Lightweight Champion BJ Penn. Frankie Edgar defeated then-champion BJ Penn via decision in their first match last April 2020 during UFC 112 held at Abu Dhabi. Frankie Edgar convincingly won the fight by hitting and running and by taking down Penn a couple of times. BJ Penn has vowed to regain his belt in UFC 118.

Also on the UFC 118 co-main event, Former UFC Heavyweight and Light Heavyweight Champion Randy Couture will slug it out with 4-division boxing champion James "Lights Out" Toney. This should provide a lot of spark to both MMA and boxing. A lot of boxers have tried their hands on MMA but it will be the first time that a boxer as skilled and as decorated as Toney will be trying his shot in MMA. UFC 118 should create more interest not just to hardcore UFC fans but also to boxing afficionados.
