Carlos Tamara claimed the IBF junior Flyweight titleby defeating champion Brian Viloria. Carlos Tamara looked rejuvenated in the late rounds and that proved to be the difference. Brian Viloria looked really exhausted and was falling on his own, so referee Bruce McTavish had to do the right thing and stop the fight. Conditioning proved to be a difference in the fight. Brian Viloria was way ahead on the scorecard but was just too weak to continue.
Meanwhile, WBO minimumweight champion Filipino Donnie Nietes successfully defended his title against game Jesus Silvestre with a TKO on Round 10.
